— Project Statement
Eclipse
Eclipse, Baldwin Wallace University’s Digital Media Design Senior Portfolio Exhibition, showcases the creative process of graphic design majors through various mediums such as print and web design, logos, brochures, packaging designs, websites, and applications.
The show’s primary objective is to design a theme that resonates with the range of student works. The selected theme of the exhibition, Eclipse, features a logotype of the word “Eclipse,” with a unique twist of the letter “c,” which is transformed into a crescent moon adorned with stars. Drawing inspiration from the upcoming total solar eclipse in April 2024, the color palette incorporates lighter tones of gold and orange to evoke the brilliance of sunlight, while darker reds, browns, and blacks emphasize the celestial theme. Vista Sans OTCE ties the elements with the moon highlighted within the logotype.
The logo will be utilized across various platforms to brand the show, including digital displays, websites, email campaigns, stickers, banners, and other promotional materials. This design draws to the show’s name and symbolizes creativity, uniqueness, and the individuality of each senior’s brand identity.
